Gynecology-obstetrics includes many disciplines, all dedicated to women’s health and well-being, both outside of pregnancy (gynecology) and during pregnancy and childbirth (obstetrics).
Gynecology is divided into several branches.
Obstetrics focuses on monitoring the progress of pregnancy and childbirth.
Gynecology itself involves the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive system and breast (uterine diseases, ovarian diseases, breast conditions, sexually transmitted infections), screening for gynecological cancers through Pap smears and mammograms in collaboration with radiologists, management of infertility, birth control (contraception or abortion), and treatment of menopausal disorders.
